The Story Behind Élan d'Or

From our founder

I didn't start Élan d'Or as a business idea. I started it because of my wife.

She loves jewellery, but every piece she bought would tarnish within weeks. The gold would fade, the metal would leave marks on her skin, and something she was excited about would end up forgotten in a drawer. It frustrated her. And quietly, it frustrated me too.

One afternoon while window shopping, I walked into a store selling jewellery that caught my eye. I didn't know what demi-fine was at the time. I just knew it looked beautiful, so I bought a few pieces for her.

What happened next surprised me. She wore them through everything (household chores, cooking, daily life) and nothing happened. No tarnish. No fading. No green marks. Weeks passed, then months, and the pieces looked exactly as they did on day one.

That sent me down a rabbit hole. I started researching the materials, the plating technology, and why this jewellery behaved so differently. The more I learned, the more I realised that what my wife had been looking for all along actually existed. Most women just didn't know where to find it, or couldn't get it at a fair price.
